Impact of the Galactic Disk and Large Magellanic Cloud on the Trajectories of Hypervelocity Stars Ejected from the Galactic Center
Scott J. Kenyon et al 2018 ApJ 864 130
For typical hypervelocity stars ejected from the galactic center toward low (high) galactic latitudes, the disk bends trajectories by up to 30° (3°–10°); the Large Magellanic Cloud often produces similar deflections.
