Newly discovered “super spiral galaxies” — giant, massive spiral galaxies as optically luminous as elliptical brightest cluster galaxies — may be a remnant population of unquenched, massive disk galaxies.

A supernova gravitationally lensed by a galaxy cluster appeared as a first image in Nov 2014. It was predicted to reappear in Dec 2015 in a second host-galaxy image — and the prediction was successful!
